For those going through a tough time or struggling with mental health issues can now get free Big White Wall (BWW). Visit Big White Wall and enter your Hackney postcode to access the service. City and Hackney Wellbeing Network: A partnership of 11 mental health agencies providing free, high quality groups and courses such as mindfulness, CBT, employment, eco-volunteering, money management and debt prevention, to help with issues including stress, anxiety and depression, and help prevent problems from starting or getting worse. For Hackney residents, including people with severe and enduring mental health conditions. Call 020 8525 2301 or email wellbeingnetwork@cityandhackneymind.org.uk. For people with depression: East London Foundation NHS Trust and a variety of voluntary and other organisations provide a wide range of services for people facing depression. DAYMER - provide help, information, advice and advocacy on enquiries on a wide range of fields from welfare issues to setting up a small business and help with your enquiries about your existing business. In addition, our advice centre is OISC registered and advice on immigration, citizenship, housing, welfare, health, education is also provided. Turkish Cypriot Community Association - Thursdays: any paperwork related queries which operates free of charge.

Free Health Services and Activities:

Fitness classes: Our One You community fitness classes take place in community venues across the borough. With over 40 classes per week on 26 estates in Hackney, there’s something for everyone from Box Fit to Zumba, kids’ karate to family street dance. They’re just £2 and are aimed at residents and people who work in Hackney, from children to older adults. For more information call 0208 356 3349 or email publichealth@hackney.gov.uk. Drug and alcohol misuse:

The service is only a phone call away. You can call free on 0300 303 2611, or out of hours on 0808 168 8669 or visit Hackney drug and alcohol support for advice on treatment or enquiries about drugs or alcohol. The Hackney recovery service is based at 110 Mare Street, Hackney, E83SG and provides assessments for clients, key-working, group work, health interventions, and specialised clinical treatment.

Healthier Together Hackney - The Healthier Together Hackney programme offers both Weight Management and Physical Activity on Referral programmes to support you to achieve your personal goals whether that be losing weight or becoming more active. It is provided by GLL - a not for profit charitable social enterprise -the programme is run from a range of venues including:

  • Britannia Leisure Centre
  • Clissold Leisure Centre
  • Kings Hall Leisure Centre
  • As well as community venues across Hackney
